Renovations for Current Facilities
This proposition includes the renovation of 32 schools across the district. A variety of renovations such as:
HVAC
Plumbing
Electrical
Flat work
Safety and security
Roofing
Marquee signs
Paint
Flooring
Average age of Irving ISD facilities is 47.6 years
Replacement of Barton, Farine, and Crockett
These campuses were built in the 1950’s and are some of the oldest campuses in the district.
Career and Technology Education (CTE) Center
The CTE Center would increase career elective offerings to students throughout the entire district. A new center will provide facility upgrades to existing CTE programs as well as add new high-demand, high-wage programs of study leading to increased internships and post-secondary employment opportunities for students.
A new CTE Center will allow approximately 900 students to gain industry experience in one of the following career pathways:
Cosmetology
Drone Engineering
Robotics
Welding
Collision Repair
Diesel Technology
Automotive Technology
New Programs
HVAC
Electrical
Plumbing
E-Sports
2 Baby Universities
The tuition-based employee childcare centers would extend learning opportunities to students from birth to 3 years old. It will provide childcare to district employees, classes to expecting mothers and earlier learning opportunities for students supporting their cognitive growth and development.
Fine Arts Transportation and Equipment
Irving ISD will be able to effectively transport and provide additional student fine arts equipment.
Safety & Security Upgrades
School safety related upgrades such as cameras, and monitoring tools, installation of fencing, exterior doors, glass doors not within a secured area, ground level exterior windows, silent panic alert technologies, and other required components around emergency responder radios, exterior door numbering, and exterior secure master key lock boxes and safety vestibules.
