Technology Upgrades
The technology bond funds will enable Irving ISD to continue to operate, maintain, upgrade, and grow the following critical technology components:
Student and Staff Computers
The district supplies students and staff with user devices. Irving ISD will purchases age appropriate user devices.
Upgrade Network Infrastructure
The district’s network infrastructure includes all of the routers & switches (480+ total) in each building that provide students, teachers, and staff with a physical pathway to the internet and our internal data centers.
Wi-Fi and Internet Infrastructure
This provides students, teachers, and staff with secured high-speed access to the internet and all the digital resources that are required to perform their tasks. This secured high-speed access includes 3000+ wireless access points and two 10 gigabits per second (gbps) internet links.
Implement Cybersecurity Systems
Implementing cybersecurity system to eliminate or drastically reduce exposure to cybersecurity vulnerabilities. These cybersecurity systems help by:
protecting our users’ data
protecting all district computers and networking equipment from all forms of malware
training and protecting our users from phishing attempts
protecting our network users
protecting the district as a whole from advanced threats such as Distributed Denial Of Service (DDOS) attacks
